At Women Sports USA®, our mission is to celebrate athletes, preserve women's sports history, and inspire future generations through storytelling, recognition, and community.
Today, we're proud to introduce the leadership team helping guide that vision forward.
What began as a passion for preserving the history and impact of women’s sports has grown into a nonprofit organization dedicated to spotlighting athletes, empowering girls and women in sports, and building a stronger future for the next generation.
As we continue this journey, we'd like to introduce the leaders helping guide and support our mission.
We’re still growing, learning, and building — and we’re grateful for every person supporting the movement along the way.
Meet the Leadership Team Driving the Mission Forward
Together, Linda Herron and Carol Spaziano bring decades of experience in athletics, leadership, mentorship, and community building to help guide the future of Women Sports USA®.
Linda Herron — CEO & Founder
Linda Herron is the CEO and Founder of Women Sports USA®. A former NCAA Division I field hockey athlete at the University of Rhode Island. Linda brings a lifelong passion for athletics, leadership, and storytelling to the organization.
Throughout her 40+ year career in business and finance, she held executive leadership roles while also pursuing her passion as an author and advocate for women in sports.
In 2026, Linda stepped away from a successful 40+ year business career to dedicate herself full-time to growing Women Sports USA® and expanding opportunities to celebrate athletes, coaches, and trailblazers across the country.
As the organization continues to expand, Linda remains committed to creating a platform that preserves history, supports athletes, and inspires future generations of girls and women in sports.
Women Sports USA® was founded with a clear mission: to ensure that the stories of girls and women in sports are visible, remembered, and celebrated. This is achieved through athlete spotlights, features on trailblazers, sports history projects, and the expanding 50 States | 50 Stories™ initiative. Linda's goal is to preserve the legacy of women's sports and inspire future generations.
Carol Spaziano — Chairman of the Board
Carol Spaziano serves as Chairman of the Board for Women Sports USA®.
A respected coach, mentor, and leader in women’s athletics, Carol has dedicated many years to supporting athletes and helping young women grow through sports, teamwork, and leadership.
Her experience working with young athletes and her commitment to empowering girls through sports bring valuable perspective, leadership, and guidance to the organization.
Carol's passion for mentorship and athlete development continues to help shape the future direction of Women Sports USA®.
As Chairman of the Board, Carol helps support the strategic growth and long-term vision of Women Sports USA®.
